Water Movers

Water Movers

From what I've read, and I'm sorry but I can't remember the source, but apparently the Panta Rays don't have the reliability one would expect. If I remember the source I'll post it back in this thread.

Tunze is probably the best bet if your OK with wires in the tank. I'm personally a Vortech guy because I try to keep as many wires as possible out of the tank. I also don't like the closed loop concept because of all the additional holes added to the glass.

Seaswirls might be another viable option depending on your plumbing. I really like how they work but my plumbing would have made it awkward to work.

I haven't found a single perfect option for water movement. Each has its positives and negatives. What it really boils down to is whats most important to you.

Drip tray installed.

Waiting on...

1-Sump to be finished
2-Granite for top of stand
3-Lighting to arrive
4-Skimmer to arrive
5-Reactors to arrive
6-Pick out topoff tank

Once those are in order, we can get cabinet, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing contractors to come in and get everything measured up and roughed in.

No sir, I'm just gonna make it as effective and efficient as possible with the room I have. The tank will be surrounded by a custom entertainment unit built around the stand.

Love it! I am sure you thought about it, but make sure the stand has ventilation built in - some sort of a active fans - will help in gas exchange and be an extra option for cooling

Sump started. Waiting until Monday for the teeth to be laser cut on the baffle after the refugium. Once that comes in we will get those last two baffles installed. We have tops precut and are waiting to install those until we know where the final plumbing is and the skimmer comes in.

Granite and cabinets are 4 weeks out. So it's basically a waiting game at this point.

Sump is close to complete! Just need to cut some of the excess silicone, add some black acrylic trim, cut the sump top to fit the skimmer, and buy the refugium lights.

Black trim complete - just waiting on silicone to fully cure. Turned out much better than I had hoped actually! Looks like we are in a holding pattern now until more equipment shows up.

Another 40amp of service dedicated to aquarium and support systems. Ethernet wire run to stand to service the Apex controller. We ran USB in the wall as well to service both the lights, support systems, and QT system. 100cfm remote exhaust fan to control humidity and temperature. Reservoir RODI (auto topoff water) and saltwater tanks will be stored in garage (arriving and installing tomorrow) and hard plumbing was run into QT fish room/mechanical room. The RODI water line will be run directly to the tank from the garage as well. Mini freezer is back in action as well.

***Dont pay much attention to the second Reverse Osmosis system. That is used for our house drinking water.

We built the reservoir tank stand and completed the plumbing! RODI unit is running and filling both tanks. I will have one of the 75g tanks feed both the QT and main display aquarium for auto top off. Much more work to compete next week.
