North Florida Needs Some South Florida Help

We are driving from the Panhandle of Florida down to MACNA. We will have all day Thursday to visit some local/regional fish stores. I wanted to ask you local guys this question: "If you only had one day to visit 3-5 fish stores, which stores in your opinion would you suggest we visit?" Which ones are the "Must See" stores?

A North Florida guy would appreciate some South Florida suggestions.

Oceanview Aquarium (bird road)
Exotic Aquarium (bird road)
Elite Marine Life (pompano beach)

It will depend on how much driving are you willing to do, the Bird Road stores (5 in a 1 mile stretch) are 45 minutes away from the Westin Diplomat.

If you have kids take them to Allfish Emporium in Tamarac.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We are 4 old farts (2 Couples) with no kids. Driving isn't a problem, if you think there are some shops worth the trip?

Barrier Reef in Boca Raton
Elite Marine Life in Pompano.

Both are right off i-95 on the way to the Bird Road ones

Barrier is great, but they're a bit far from MACNA (still gotta love this store, I just came from there in fact!!)

Elite Marine Life is a must.

Even if you don't have kids, you should visit All-Fish in Tamarac just to say you did. It's a huge place, very bright and friendly. While I admit the coral prices are a bit high, the dry goods section is fantastic and it's just plain FUN to go wander around the wet side.

i agree with your statement, and add in for fish in broward i think Marine net is the best ive been in but thats far out west.

The truth is we have stores all over the place, complain all the time about selection and don’t realize how fortunate we are compared to other places. LOL

Great stores! But don't let the excitement of macna take you on a detour. Save your money for macna. That's where the cool stuff will be!

I won't be buying anything...just looking. I was at MACNA in Dallas last year and hit a couple of stores. Sounds like I will have some nice stores to see in South Florida. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Exotic Aquatic in Broward is small but clean and usually has some nice livestock. Stop there first, then Allfish then head to Bird Road.
