This is the stuff I really miss....

The best show I have seen was on the Tsiu. Started as yellow and reddish curtains from behind a mountain and green smoke coming from the tree tops, then ended up just like this pic, insane pulsing beams invading from space. I couldn't believe how colorful and active it was, having only seen green curtains camping in MI. It appeared to be right in front of my face. Just amazing, watched for about 4 hours. Nothing like the Aurora. It's beyond words, really. Great shots!

Need a superwoman ;)

....as a matter of fact that is why I was standing there. Waiting for her to fly to me from out of the night sky. The picture was just a capture by that dude from the Daily Bugle.....what a pest :)

Those are some seriously amazing pictures! I have seen them once in my life and it actually down here in Idaho. there have been times they are so intense you can see them down here. When I was in fifth grade i went to my aunt and uncles house in Fairbanks and fell asleep in my uncles truck when he saw them and he didnt bother to wake me up!!!

many people up here see them as a routine. Unless it really kicks up, then people stop and watch them. On the records are events so intense that the Aurora was seen as far south as Mexico!

I can't wait to see some action like this. Louis- I imagine your photos do an excellent job of capturing the majesty. The moonrise shot is exceptional!

yeah, you'd think that with the Wacom Tablet I have I could have done better...jezze. To think I actually have some art training....I look at some of the artwork being done today with PS and it just rocks my world (and makes me painfully aware of how poor my (artistic) PS skills really are). Did enjoy it though, and it was just to good to pass up the opportunity (lol). Glad you liked it :).

Suzy, it is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! You can sort of see the "rays" in this image. Live, the rays shimmer up and down the length of the arc almost God running his fingers along illuminated keys of a Piano that rise and fall.
