Not a fun morning!

I just wanted to take a sec to thank brett7768. Its people like him that make this hobby so enjoyable. I can't thank you enough for what you did today. Anytime you need something whether it be a frag (once my tank is going again), rock or just help Im there for you.

Theres a few things you can do with the RA to sense power outages and deal accordingly... First thing is easy and free. sign uo to reeftronics.net and it will email you if it can't reach your controller for an hour.

Lee that sounds like a great idea except the wifi module is very unreliable. It's the only thing I hate about the RA. It keeps dropping the connection. I've tried everything from adding the external antenna, firmware to changing routers 3 diff times. I wish the RA had a actual Ethernet port.

Hmmm firmware was the main issue with that...when i got the new baby monitor it was killing my connection bad and that took care of it...i'm sure you did, but you set the module option to use the ext antenna? You could try the diy ethernet board, think its something like $35. Theres also a setting (when ppl were having problems before the 4.x) to rejoin frequently...just something else to look at...

Anyway, other options to monitor power if you have a free float switch port you can rig something up with about $10 in radio shack parts and a spare ac/dc transformer...

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had a similar problem a few months ago which I'll be describing as soon as I finish here.

I love my APEX and everything I wanted to say about it has already been said. If you sign up for Reeftronics (it's completely free) then reeftronics will send you an email as soon as it can't connect to your controller. It's beautiful. I haven't read up about all the new updates to the APEX with the cloud and all that yet though....

As for power, I actually have 2 APEX energy bars behind my tank. Each bar has 8 outlets so I can plug in 16 devices.

There already was an outlet behind my tank before I set it up. I installed another outlet behind my tank that is on a new circuit that I installed. Each energy bar is on a different circuit. My return pumps and skimmer and more are on one bar and one circuit. My Vortechs are on the other energy bar which in on a different circuit..
