I got this guy about 2 weeks ago, and placed him in the sand. He used to puff up to about twice the size he is in this pic. My sand sifting goby is always dropping sand all over the brain, and I blow it away with a turkey baster. Do you think it would be OK to move the brain up onto the rocks higher in the tank, or do they "need" to be in the sand?

Ours is on the bottom, and we have to blow it off occassionally too, but the only sand moving things in our tanks are worms and nassarius snails that I know of. I know we haven't put bigger things in there on purpose!

I read on a thread that rocks may not be a good idea because they have tissue underneath that may scrape against the rock when they expand or contract. Maybe something smoother would work? I don't know, wait for more answers :)
