not opening long tenticled toadstool

i just bought a long tenticle toadstool and it seems to be doing ok but it isnt extending its tenticles like i saw it in the lfs it is only extending them 1/2 an inch what would the reason for this be nothing is near it and other then my ph being a little low my parameters are fine. i do have a metal halide and the toadstool is placed middle of my tank which is only a 24 gal aquapod is it to much light????

It could still be adjusting to your tank. They can be a bit touchy to change, I'd give it some more time before acting.

how long does it take my ric is already looking great i actually think its about to split so a few days is fine before they do anything

When we first got ours, it looked ok after the first day, but took almost a week to fully open up and extend all of its polyps.

I wouldn't worry at this point. The fact that it's extending its polyps, even though not fully, is a good sign. Give it some more time and see if it continues to adjust. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about at this point.
