Not so "Nano" shallow 75

Tagging along, looks awesome. Good work on the wiring so happy when i finally got all mine done so nice to have everything neat and clean and labelled

You should set up a little 20 gallon or something for a Qt observation tank for all your new additions in the mean time

Thank you for all of the compliments! Just looked at the tracking for the tank and it says it is in Orlando, I hope I get all call soon for delivery!

mx51: The Refugium is a E-Shopps R-100, I really like it. It is acrylic not glass though.

Craigdillman: Thank you it really does feel good when it is all organized, I am still trying to figure out how I want to do the wiring for the sump side. Hopefully get that done today. I looked into doing a QT in the stand but I couldn't find a rimless tank that I liked that fit. I will be figuring out something.

Yea it's totally worth it man, I just went through the whole upgrade from a 30 gallon new 125 gallon thing just about 4 months ago and never qt anything and now... After getting ich and riping all the fish out basicly tearing down my aquascape, I'm treating all my fish in a 55 gallon at the moment everyone talks about qt but I think the only people who do it are the people who get somthing...

I was kinda like you meticlious wih every plan and all my water and diping corals and that's the only thing I slipped on

Just wanted to give you my 2 cents
Planning out a qt and procedure will pay for it self ten fold, and if you do it now while you don't have a tank you'll be less likley to rush it lol

The tank is here! It is awesome! Great Lakes Aquarium did a phenomenal job! Ive never had a Starfire Tank before........I'm amazed!

very, very impressive. That sump is really nice. You've done a stupendous job. You've been thinking about this in detail, haven't you? :)

Thank you for the compliments! It is turning out to be exactly the way I envisioned it so it is a really good feeling. Kind of a planning flaw on my part but where the drain and return pipes are I do not have a lot of room for the actual piping so I will be working on that tomorrow. After I get all of that set up i will finish up the sump and all the wiring. Hoping to get it wet by Monday!

Fishroomlady: Oh yes for some time is an understatement. I have been researching and planning for the past 6 months on this tank. Equipment planning is easy! Now lets see if I can get the life in the tank be as easy!

I have 160 pounds of course argonite sand from marcorocks, I don't plan on going more than an inch but it all depends on the looks. It will be a fluid item, when it looks good it looks good.

Thank you for all of the support. So I have been able to get a lot of work done the last few days, the only thing i have left is to seal the drain line piping and find hosing for the ATO pump. All in all I think it turned out very well, not as clean underneath as I really wanted BUT once you add all of the wiring and plumbing......I am really amazed how some guys are able to make it look like nothing is there. I really liked the way the rock work turned out, I am not a big fan of the two/three island thing with this shallow and long kind of tank so the idea was to have a main island with multiple other islands. Please let me know what you think and water will be in it on Friday.

(be fore warned, I am sorry for the crappy iPhone pics, the lighting really plays hell on it)

Very nice. the only thing i noticed is that you dont seam to have any vents in your sump area and you have your controller mounted down their. I my self would have my controller in my sump area do to the high humidity area.

other then that, i like the DT layout really well. looks good.

It has been a long week with my parents here and getting the tank up and running but it is wet and running. Took a little bit to get some leaks taken care of, all the cables as well as all the piping but I am very pleased with it. The overflow is a lot louder then I expected but manageable. One problem I have encountered that I wanted to get everyones perspective on is one of my MP40s is making a loud (relative compared to the other) buzzing noise from the motor. Is this normal or should I get with EcoTech?

Now for pictures:
