Not so vivid AOG

The polyps on my new AOG frag (at least I think thats what it is) don't seem as vivid as others I've seen. They look kind of bleached or washed out in the center with only a little color on the fingers. I don't know their history. They were a little slow to open but seem to be doing just fine now.

Any suggestions? Will they stay this color? More light or less?

Thanks!

IMO Armor of Gods aren't near as bright of a red as other palys... I have a couple different "AoG's", including one with direct lineage to Mr. Ugly... And if you look at ZoaID, some of the pics don't even look anything alike one another... But I agree with Peter in that there are a TON of fakes out there...

My AOG's don't mind intense light... In fact I think they do better with lots of light and moderate current... Yours could just be faded from shipping stress or location in the prior owners tank... Good luck!!!!!

AOGs also seem to react to lighting quite a bit. I have to disagree about them not being as bright as other palys. They are the brightest palys I have ever seen when give a good amount of light.

True AoG is big and bright orange. They become more intense bright orange if placed under metal halide. I placed my very high up in my tank under 250 watt HQI MH. Here is the picture of my AoG colony
