There is an orange and black striped growth at the base of my coral. Can anyone tell me what it is? Thanks!

It looks like either a sponge or another soft coral of some kind. Can you lightly poke it with something and see if it retracts? Also, try putting some small frozen food on it and seeing if it eats the food.
 
Not a sponge but colonial tunicates, likely in the genus Botrylloides. They are filter feeders and are harmless, a sign of good water quality.
