Nov NARC Meeting (CARC invited also)

Hi Everyone,

We wanted to thank everyone who came to the house; we had an absolute blast. We've taken your advice Tomoko - Jason is at the store right now getting the algae you recommended for Dory as well as the alkalinity test kit for the 'shrooms.

I'm just sorry we live so far away from most of you. If we're ever in need of a place to meet, please feel free to call on us. We'll be available any month you all want to come on down.

I just wanted to thank Jason & Tammy for hosting the meeting. You have a lovely home and Tanks. I enjoyed talking to everyone and meeting new people.

Thanks Tomoko for the clowns, they are doing fine. When i got home i thought i might lose them from the extended time they were in the container, but i put some air in there and got them warmed up and they were OK. I fed them some flakes, some frozen brine shrimp and some of the food we made at the last meeting but they didn't eat. I tried again this morning and one took a couple bites so i think they were just stressed out to much last night.

Bham & anyone else who has a scratch they want to get rid of on there glass tanks, The stuff we use is Cerium Oxide Powder with a Felt wheel on a drill. We get it at C R Laurence page 229.

I look forward to seeing all of you next month.

Hi Molly,

Your clownfish babies were probably huddling together in the dark. Babies do that at night when the light is turned off. They huddle together on the bottom of the tank and don't move much in the dark. When you brought them out into a bright room from a dark cooler, they were probably scared and trying to lay low. When I go into the room where they live at night after their light has turned off, they do the very same thing.

Salt water fish in a new environment won't eat right away. They should start eating soon, though.

Tomoko

We want to thank Jason and Tammy for hosting us at their lovely home. We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Monica and Don

Man.. I guess I missed this meeting, maybe I can make the next one? I just signed up here, a customer of mine told me about this meeting, but I guess I came by to check it out a little too late.

They have perked up now. They are adjusting to there new home. They are eating a little bit. Your are right about them huddling up at night. The first night they were on the bottom of the tank and looked like puppy's trying to huddle to get warm. I remembered seeing one of your pictures where they were all huddled in a piece of one inch pipe, it just so happened i had a 1" cap i had bought for the 40 gal. tank, i put it in there so they would feel a little more at home. They seem to like it. The little bitty one backed right in there last night when i turned the lights out, the other two were on top of the cap trying to figure out who was next to go in. I don't know who finally won. They are hilarious. I wish i had got 10 from you.:D . I know that can create problems, but i have found 2 people online who are keeping that many with no problems. They both attribute this to the fact that they were raised together from eggs. One set is 2 years old and the other is almost 3 and were beginning to pair up and still had no problems. I would love to have a tank full of them. We may have to talk about that last batch you had:D . Thanks again, Mollie
