Novel Aptasia removing System?

Read in another forum when Googleing for getting rid of a small patch of bubble algae I have, that a guy used a clam shell to kill the algae. He covers the algae with the shell and they die. No worries about spores. Remove the clam shell. So I was wondering if it would work on the one aptasia I have left in my aquarium. I had 5 of the buggers which the shrimp barely nibbled, and zapped them all with boiling water. One I missed and was thinking of trying that ...any thoughts? Would it work?

feed them some kalkwasser paste right into the mouth using a pipette or syringe. They'll melt away almost instantly if you hit them right. Then repeat on any that happen to survive. It works great.
I think if you just try to cover them with a shell or something they are just going to crawl out from under it.

The differences here are the aiptasia can move and can live in the complete dark (if it gets food), while bubble algae can do neither.

Usually, much more aggressive measures are needed. I finally succeeded to elimiante a bad infestation with a Chelmon marginalis fish and a ton of large peppermint shrimp.

I read somewhere that an aiptasia reproduces by moving and leaving a little bit of its foot behind. This then grows into a new anemone. Someone chime in, please, if this is not true.

You said that there was 5 & now only one due to the fact you terminated the other 4 but missed one. Why would you not repeat what killed the other 4?
