November brings in more than Turkey Day, and we can all give thanks that Sanjay Joshi will be joining us. If you ever, and I mean ever wanted to know about lighting this is a must see presentation.

*everyone* OHHHHH AHHHHHHHH......

Nice one marc.....I hope he is ready, because I know there are a few of us, who will be filled with questions to ask.

Great job Marc! I only caught the end of his talk at WMC. Now I have to start saving for a light upgrade.

Gresham-

We'll have to work out the final arrangements. He'll most likely fly in that day, but may stay over a day or two.

Keep him an extra day, Rich (Thales) and I would like to buy him dinner :D I also have something for him, if I can find it prior to the event :D

I'll email him to the same effect :D

From what I've seen he really only discusses MH lighting. I know he had a single slide about T-5 lighting coverage out of the reflectors, but does anyone know if he had done any studies on lighting other than MH that he can present?

I agree with David. He's gone quite indepth on halides for some time various wattages, kelvins mixed with various ballasts, and most of us have read the thread here one time or another, and the difference made with lumenarc reflectors. I would love to hear any other studies regarding T5, VHO, and PC that I bet over 50% of our members use.

Sorry Gresham you missed him.

i know this is a noob question but what it the URL for his site? i googled him and didn’t find. Loved his talk, I am surprised that I haven’t thought of reflector efficiency before. 819 analyses. wow.

For those that didn’t make it he talked about light efficiency. Couple of great points where keeping 10k halides past a year but moving them closer to the tank as the spectrum shifts. 20kk loose spectrume quickly an he isn’t running them at all. Another was better reflectors and how they can diminish degradation due to inverse square law. He also talked about LEDs and general electricity in and light out efficiency. He talked about currently available systems being as efficient as incandescent light but lab samples being as good as fluorescents but promising to be better than HPS lights in the next 5-10 years.

Gresham, as far as I know he is still on for November in Sacramento....and don't forget Eric Borneman will be here this month..you should grab a few BAR members and come down. That is if you are recovered from all the fun you are having over at MACNA....did I ever tell you that you have what apears to be a really cool job?

The reason I ask is, Sanjay has not been contacted recently, he has no plane ticket he knows of, etc. There may be all that, but he hasn't been contacted in a while, and he's tried to reach Marc to figure this out to no avail. I know Marc has stepped down, so some one else on the BOD may need to contact Sanjay.

I was going to post he and I would like to know :D

Yah, I love my job :D I'll be in Chicago next weekend for another trade show
