I saw several people asking about the next meeting and I was trying to get loose ends tied up again before making official announcements.
Our next meeting will be Friday, November 21st at 7:30 in the education building. Marc Levenson (melev on reefcentral.com and www.melevsreef.com) will be speaking on the subject of digital cameras. He will have a presentation that outlines what to look for when purchasing a digital camera and then how to take your own aquarium photos properly.
Marc has a small acrylic business in Texas (not his main occupation) and has offered to ship us a large package of his famous "top-down photoboxes". They require a lot of labor and he will make as many as feasible before his trip up here. We are going to be accepting payment for him through the club's website and then submit the payment all at once. When you use our paypal system we will have record of who has ordered and then we can distribute them at the meeting when Marc is here.
Right now we are working on a Paypal button for the site and we will post a link here as soon as it is available.
There will be an order deadline of 8pm Saturday, November 15th. That will give Marc a few days to get things all packed up.
The photoboxes will be delivered without the normal $12 shipping fee so that savings will be passed on to anyone ordering through the club's paypal account.
The only photoboxes that will be delivered to the meeting are the ones that are prepaid through this account. Please DO NOT order through Marc's site or you will pay $12 shipping and have him send it directly to you.

He sent us the one that was at the last meeting so we could pass it around and I got a chance to play with it a bit. Here is a cool picture I took of a purple gorgonian with polyps outstretched.
