Here is the thread where you can see all of the entries:

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=949703

I have asked the owners of the Top 10 Nano's to post some new pictures and a brief writeup of their systems in this thread so it's easier for people to judge the setups.

The Top 10 nano's belong to:

rockindacheeks

RFC

jdmhonda954

CoralFiend

louist

genix

cee

Mark426

EDGRAY

ikuwaseven

Since this is the first time we have ever tried this it's all about trial and error.

I have found a major error. Three of the finalists plus Frankie have not checked their PM's that I have sent to them so they have no idea this is going on.

Therefore I will add pictures of everyones setup from the entry thread here so people don't have to dig through 6 pages of the previous thread to find pictures. The owners can come back and add pictures to this thread and give us information about their setups.

Also the poll will be open for 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks the "winner" makes a new thread that everyone can post in again and he picks the December Top 10.

Granted the last choice has some nice pieces but this is about overall appearance! What were you thinking colinadam? I saw much nicer tanks w/ shrooms only. No offense to the owner as some of the pieces I would die to have, but as far as the overall tank appearance you have some work left to do.

By the way edgray's tank is awesome!

so what about the votes from the other thread?

I couldn't redo that thread this way so we had to start over. Hopefully everyone who voted in that thread will also vote here. I guess this should be the "official" results thread.

This is why I don't want to have to pick 10 ever again :)
It was so hard. I could have picked a Top 20 or more but I was afraid the results would be watered down.

I went back and forth with a few choices and I feel I did leave some people out that deserve mention and will hopefully get their moment in the sun down the road (Clarki3 & Travis Savant are future winners IMO).

Good luck to all that are in it now and thanks to all that contributed to the first thread.

I am honoured to have been picked amongst the top 10. Here's a brief history and run down of my tank.

Tank: 1 foot cube (30x30x35cm, WxLxH), all glass with curve front edges
Light: Aquamedic OceanLight pendant 150w 20k with OSRAM e-ballast
Flow: AC70 HOB filter modded into refugium & AC50 for a total of a bit more than 66x turnover
Other: 100w heater, cold cathode moon light, CoolWorks IceProbe installed on the AC70, 80mm fan on the light to cool it.
Addictives: Calcium and buffer to balance the alk.
Food: Hikari frozen mysis
Maintenance: 30% weekly WC, feed and clean glass daily.
Age: Began its adventure from Feburary 2006, my first fish tank.
Tank keeping philosophy: quality science leads to quality results.

Tank inhabitants:
1x male Synchiropus picturatus (spotted mandarin) on frozen mysis
1x peppermint shrimp
1x Tridacna squamosa
1x Tubastraea sp colony
16x Acropora sp. colonies/frags
2x Stylopora pistala
1x Seriatopora hystrix
1x Pocillopora sp.
8x Montipora sp.
1x Funiga sp.
2x Discoma sp aka corallimorphs
1x Zoanthid sp. colony
1x Goniopora sp., a very rare one that's completely indestructible.
