Now that Reek Geek is gone...

Where are guys buying their T-5 bulbs?

It seems like no other vendors can match their prices or customer service.

BRS for me. I just got 4 ATI 54W bulbs and 2 ATI 39W bulbs as well as filter replacements for my 5 stage RO unit for $100 with free shipping. It should have been about $190 but I had purchased so much from them in the past that I had bonus points that amounted to about $90 that I applied to this order.

They don't seem to get mentioned as often as they once did - but I've bought all my bulbs for years from Hellolights. I've had bulbs get lost during shipping (100% Fedex's fault - they flat out delivered them to the wrong address) and HL was very quick on the ball to replace them. :)

i started with reefgeek but for the past year and a half i have been getting them from tbaquatics. The place is located in NJ so they usually come within 1-2 days with standard shipping. i also used brs a few times and other then the shipping that takes 5 days they were also very good.

Actually considering going LEDs now. Tired of spending 500-600 a year on bulbs. Thinking about 4 AI Hydra 26. If anyone has any feedback on that model and can chime in, it would be appreciated.

I have a standard size 180 tank.

NO AI try some better LEDs IMO How about some acans lights :)

James....there are a lot of choices now with LEDs....you can go cheap with evergrow D120 full spectrum...manual dimmers, (on timers) or go a little more with simple programmable LED, (reef radiance or ocean revive lights) or I've heard and read a lot of good things about the Ecotech Radion xr30 Pro 3rd generation....

Cully I am considering Acans as well. I have to get over to Tropical Island to see them.

Frank, I know you have done your research and I'm gonna hit you on the cell later to discuss if that's OK?

Jim,
of course...you can call me anytime...I just ordered an Ocean Revive Arctic T-247 for my frag tank....the 150watt Cree fixture you and I bought awhile ago only operates with the blue LEDs now so I got this fixture to replace it...it is full spectrum w/2 channels and has a built in timer....can adjust the 2 channel's intensity digitally as well, (can't program to increase/decrease only to set the intensity)...it was on sale for $148 w/free shipping.

I have been running the ocean revive t-247 over one side of my frag tank for about 2 months now and so far I have been happy with it. I am hoping to replace all of my halides with these. I am going to try one of them over my display tank to see how it does. The size of it allows for a better spread than other led fixtures I have looked at. It covers a 2 x 2 area very nicely. And you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to convert over.

Hey Chris, thanks for the input. I have looked at the Ocean Revive line up and there is a lot of value. I can get two units for about what it will cost me to replace my bulbs 1x as my fixture holds 14-39 watt bulbs. So considering the low cost now may be the time to change.

Only thing I don't like about Ocean Revive fixtures is no tank braces. Hanging kit only.

If you went the AI route I think for another $150 to $200 you'd be better off with 3 x AI Hydra 52's.......(104 LEDs vs 156).....but I don't know much about the programability on the AI's. Of course if you purchased 3 x arctic t247's that would run you $444 Total w/shipping....less than the cost of replacing your bulbs...... I'll talk to you later......
