NP Biopellets?

Unless they reveal exactly what biodegradable polymer(s) they're using, I would probably stay away from this. It could be any number of things, and I doubt that they synthesized their own proprietary polymer. Chances are that they are using something that is somewhat readily available that degrades into either carbohydrates or some other bioavailable carbon species. The problem is that it could also have degradation products that you would not particularly want in your aquarium. Who knows if they won't say what it is?

While I agree with you, there are a lot of products in our hobby that are pretty unclear (at best) about their ingredients.

For the OP, I bought some and am setting it up on an experimental tank as we speak. Although I think carbon dosing into the water column has a lot of shortcomings that could theoretically be addressed by this type of product, I'm actually more interested in whether BP will help provide additional food to filter feeders. So I guess in 4-6 weeks I'll have a better idea of how useful this product is. If theres something worth noting, I'll report back then.

edit: sorry guys, just realised how old this thread is!

They are like hard plastic beads. I am currently using it on my tank...I guess I'm the adventurous guinea pig in our group...I do agree that there is a lot of uncertainty on the long term effects of using them but I took the plunge anyway. If you guys like I can take a video of my setup, that is if I can figure out how to upload a video (or link to it)...I am using it in a modified spongeless (can I mention the manufacturer here?) media reactor, currently also beta testing that modification for them...:)
