Nudi Eggs!

Just picked up some zoas about 30m ago, got them home and dipped them in iodine, checked them over and BAM there they were. A few expletives later, a photo or two, they were rebagged and are now floating in the bag in my sump.

So whats my next step?

For anyone who saw my *Awesomeness* thread, these are NOT the zoas from that thread, thank the lord.

Anyone think I would be safe fragging the good portions? Its a multi rock and I only wanted the orange zoas. Or shoud I not risk it?

why is it bad to have nudi eggs...

Just use something to scrape off the eggs, do some preventative dips and check weekly. You can also get a nudi predator ( WRASSE ) as a body guard for your tank

Nudibranchs are zoanthid predators and when they hatch in a few days, they will began to slowly consume your polyps. Although babies won't do as much damage as juvi's and adults, they will in just a matter of time. These egg sacks are easy to see under pure actinic lighting. There's much info to be found on them in the Zoanthid Information Draft at the top of page one.

Just scrape them off and use a bucket of water to wash them in.If you have an extra powerhead try and blow them off in the bucket real good after you scrape them off.

I would also dip them 1 more time in about 3 days.If you have a QT tank put them in there for a week.If not you will be ok just keep an eye on them

Yeah I would have cried. I go all over the place. I just went to midwest reef supply, they have some PHENOMENAL zoas. Kinda expensive though.
