nUgZ's new 10g

nanotrigger- Yeah it was the molly. It actually ate the other two this week, although I didn't see it catch them. There aren't any more mollies in the tank.

I finally moved most of my mushrooms from the frag tank into this tank. Here are two top down shots.

Thanks shoe. Yeah that's the last time I put Mollies in a reef. They are just too slow and didn't do anything that I wanted them to.

I have been wanting to start a reef tank for a while, but it was so expensive, ecspecially the lights. Everybody kept telling me to get the 70w Sunpod, but it was too expensive. I asked if the Satellite Dual 2x40 Watt 20"Power Compact Strip Light W/Lunar Light would work, but was told that it was mediocre and I would end up upgrading anyways.

How are those lights doing for you?

I use the Orbit 2x40w fixture. It's the best PC fixture available for the 10g. I've been very happy with it. If you can spend the extra money, I would say go ahead and go for MH. Almost everything looks better under a good MH fixture.

smurph1415- Thanks. I don't have any recent FTS, but I'll try and get one.

reeflikejehu- Thanks. Seeing that mushroom do that was pretty crazy. I'm just glad I was able to photograph the event.

I just realized that I haven't given any informational updates on this tank in a while. I lost the Trimma tevegae I had for over 2 years.

They don't usually live that long in captivity, so I'm happy I was able to have him as long as I did. My LFS happened to have Trimma gobies on a stock list from one of their vendors. Small groups of them will sometimes school together, so I had them order 5 for me. Two of them died in shipment, so I went to pick up the other three. When I got there I was surprised to see that all three were different species. One of them was Trimma cana...the one I'd been wanting for years. The other two almost looked more like Eviota gobies. One of the Eviota's disappeared the first night I had him, so I was left with two. They aren't very easy to photograph, but I'll post some pics soon.

Well here's one of the new fish. It's the on I've been wanting. Trimma cana.
