I have tried aiptasia-x with no success and am about to try kalkwasser injections (kalk paste) does the kalk have to be in mixed form/ milky white because I can't get the needle to suck up the kalk that way or should i use the clear solution and will that still be as effective these are nuisance palys that are taking over even growing on my sps .....

clear might work, but if not try taking plunger out and pour in soluiton while holding other end w/o needle on.. ha ha, those things are tough, i had to strat over w new rock

I pluck them and pull them out with tweezers, grab the base and yank em out, just be careful with the paly juice getting on you or other corals, good luck.

Straight vinegar has worked for me on quite a few nuclear greens in the past but you have to either already be carbon dosing and supplement or just go slow to reduce the risk of a bacterial bloom.

And also finding a larger gauge needle is key when injecting kalk into things, My wife is an rn so I get a variety.

I haven't tried that method yet there are several hundred of them. And yeah I have heard about the poison these things have that alone makes me nervous I have cuts all over my hands from work....

I don't know if I want to risk a bacterial bloom. But finding a bigger needle I will start looking .thanks

Aiptasia X originally, now I just hope one of my fish will eat the ugly ones ;) I'm probably going to make a project of it and put on my scuba reg and cut all of them out with scissors as getting the rocks out isn't possible :(

like weeds in a lawn! stuff you want....ha!, stuff you don't .... ha ha!!

just "fun'en", I know what your going through except I was pretty dumb about it and caused a bunch of grief to the tank by being foolish. The stories about toxicity are real, just go about it carefully.

:)

That is your answer.

Yeah pretty much, do you not agree?
I've had hit and miss with kalk and paly's but having a larger gauge needle makes all the difference to stop the chance of a clogged tip that you push harder on and blow kalk all over the place..

Although I did forget to answer the part about needing the actual kalk in it =). And I'm not from Florida...

I don't mind them enough to really make much of an effort to get them out :) it's just that one set of gold darth mauls is encroaching on some of my rics:(

Yeah I wouldn't care either if they were nice looking .but they are just plain brown palys. And they are spreading so fast they had grown on one of my torts and killed it so now its time for removal because I'm seeing them all over the tank here and there..I really just had them in there when the tank was starting to make the tank look more alive and fill it with coral fast but now I'm paying for it....
