maybe the wrong forum but if someone can help. i have an established tank that has these nuisance zoas...brown and ugly that seems to grow like weed...i put chalices next to it and other tough stuff and cant seem to get rid of them...any suggestions? thanks

Kalk pasting them. due it in spurts over a period of time. ( not all at the same time )

Are you talking about aiptasia? If so, get a bunch of peppermint shrimp and start kalkwasser pasting. I've never seen zoas that grew so quickly they became pests. Picture?

He's talking about invasive growers like coffee brown protopalys. Kalk paste is the best quickest solution.

you mentioned only do it in spurt? not cover all at one time? no pix but they are brown and ugly and grow a tad too fast for my comfort

safer way is to use something like kent liquid calcium and a syringe/needle and inject them. WIll kill them and not nuke the tank. I read it on an other forum for getting rid of aptasias. Works pretty well. I get a syring from the local feed store for giving dogs their shots, draw some of the liquid calcium into it and stick it into the aptasia and squirt osme into it. Never see the little bugger again and the ph never rises like kalk paste causes it to do.
