Hello all,
Been out of the game for few years. Decided to get back in. Setup a small 29 Gallon Bio-cube. Has anyone around here actually used the
Nutri-SeaWater to Instant Cycle their tank? The company makes some interesting claims. Ever use water and add fish and coral same day or next day?? Look like BS to me...

I suppose if you had a healthy amount of cured live rock that would work too...

Thanks in ADVANCE...

As I have never tried it I can't really comment concretely but I don't believe its possible with water alone.. but I don't know what else is in that product.....
Sure.. with nice cured live rock ok.. And yes with some "bacterias in a bottle" you can have a quick cycle but unless I absolutely had no choice I would expect and plan for a cycle of some sort..

Try it then dose the tank up to 1ppm of ammonia the next day and see if its gone in 24 hours..

+1, I think it is a very good idea to test out the bacteria in a bottle product before adding livestock. Be particularly cautious if you used live rock and had any indication that there was some die off (it will smell bad if there is any die off), since the rotting bio-mass can overwhelm the tanks bacteria even if it initially keeps up with the load. I have used Dr. Tim's One and Only and had great success with it giving me a quick two day cycle, but cation should be used.

I've never used that water but I do use Pacific Ocean Water but imagitarium and bio spira and my cycle time was under a week so it may speed up the cycle a lot but I would still expect a spike even if it is small

I'm sure they help. I maintain a koi pond where we do have to dose bacteria to keep things processing. BUT how efficient they're NOT is something with so many factors. Rock is not instantly 'live': it'll get a surface film. Ditto the sand. Bacteria will float around in the nice water. WHich won't be nice long, because that's the way tanks and ponds are---because fish live in them and eat and poo. It drifts out of perfect range subtly---but a fish dies of ich (which you should qt and ttm for) and you've got a toboggan ride of badness---and your tank is infested with little invisible ich motes.

Haste not only makes waste, it doesn't handle waste all that well.
