My 11 and 12 year old daughters had received a Nuvo 24 as a reward for their academic achievements this past school year. I purchased the complete system from another aquarist that had enjoyed much success with the tank. My children have been captivated by our 150 gallon reef for many years. As an educational experience, we had set it up as a reef system in their bedroom. They enjoyed watching the fish and livestock and learned a lesson in responsibility for the past month and a half.
Last night they were awoken to a popping sound and rushing water at 2:30am. We scrambled as fast as we could to save the livestock and prevent damage to the equipment, stand, and flooring.
Livestock went into buckets as the shopvac saved the hardwood floors. Kids scrambled mopping up what they could with towels. The stand received minor damage. Amongst the chaos, water poured directly on to the dimming switches of the Nuvo lighting system and water appears in the light housing.
I have notified Innovative Marine upon the situation & are awaiting a response from their warranty department. I am hoping that my experience is a positive one, and will be posting additional information on this thread.
