NWB110 Stability question

I have an new NWB110 running in my sump at a 8.5" water depth, and I have been having a hard time adjusting the water level/bubble level in the skimmer body, it seems to fluctuation about 3 inches or so. The outlet of the skimmer is under water, and I am thinking I should raise the skimmer a good inch.

Thoughts?

suggestions ?

Some skimmers are designed to have the outlet under water (Skimz) most skimmers are not, sorry I do not run that skimmer have you watched any you tube videos on that skimmer?

in the video the water column extends into the neck.. IMO he actually needs to raise his sump depth some.

OP... try the skimmer in 7.5 inches of water... reef octo recommends 7-8 inches for the nwb110 with the aquatrance pump. outlet half submerged or up to 3/4 submerged will be fine as it can vent any trapped bubbles. Also, with this being a new skimmer, it will take a few weeks for it to break in and stabilize completely. I would produce foam about an inch below the neck for the next few weeks, then, slowly raise the skimmer internal water column and adjust for dry or wet skim.
