O. clownfish question

Well I was away for 9 days while on vacation, and when I came home, one of my clowns was missing! I looked everywhere for it, but its definetly gone. All of the other fish/corals in the tank are doing fine, and my auto feeder was working when I got back, so I'm not sure exactly what happened to him, but I assume that bristleworms cleaned up the body since its nowhere to be found. If I get a new ocellaris clown, will it mate with the clown in the tank (I think the one still in there is the female since it was the larger of the two).

how long have you had the clowns? how big is your female? and Im guessing it wasnt bristleworms that cleaned him up, but hermits if you have them or shrimp or emeralds

I've had the clowns for about 7 months..the female id say is about 2.5 inches...and i dont have any emerald crabs or shrimp..just one hermit.

just make sure the new clown is smaller, I'd say 1- 1 1/2 " range, and when introduced be sure to keep an eye on them, the new clown may take a beating and you may have to remove it

yea theres ways to control is your bigger clown beat on the little one...like putting the aggressor in a small see through cup you can get from a LFS so he can still be in the tank and your new fish will establish itself
