Hi Guys,

Once again I was looking for away to make the tank better with me doing less.

Check it out. It was shot in HD - Watch the HD instead of the YouTube CrapD

Love the feeder Dave!! Those large bore pump heads are the perfect solution.

So.... how about a parts list so we can build our own??

The concept is cool. The only question is what's in the food? Water freeze, for the food to not freeze at normal freezing temp there has to be a additive. But what is it? What effect does it have? U can make things into slushes by adding sugars for example but obviously u get the effect of carbon dosing when u feed without knowing it. What could it be that they add to the food? Propylene glycol? Or what? Probably something that won't break down into a carbon source, but can u shed some light Dave?

Thanks for all the compliments.

Art, Lots of people have asked for a parts list. Once I have this finalized and running for a month to verify the functionality, then I think what I might do is have a group build.

I'll put together the parts list, and then people who are interested send me the costs, and then one Sunny So Cal Afternoon everyone comes over and we build them all at the same time in my back yard. As always with my projects there are a few things that were modified.

With all the parts here I bet from start to finish we could assemble as a group the whole project in 3-4 hours (depending on beer consumed) and at the end of the time everyone walks away with a full functional feeder.

Fizzman - I am not sure what BrineshrimpDirect.com uses for the slush part of the food. I have been using the foods for 2+ years without any issues. Granted I haven't used it in doses 5x a day everyday.

But I do know other people feeding with it daily without issues. And I know a commercial facility feeding 2 of the different slush foods everyday and they have zero issues.

Chefzilla came over and sniffed the foods trying to figure out what the 'binder' was he might be able to help answer your query better than I.

Way cool! Would the pumps have enough strength to pull frozen food from about 10 feet away? Would love to run the lines from my garage so the freezer isn't in the middle of my dining room.

Thanks for all the compliments.

What a great idea Dave! I'm totally down for a group build.

Dave, maybe they put extra salt in it. That would make it freeze at lower temperatures so it could be enough salt to make it freeze slightly below normal freezer Temps. Also, the same reason your plumbing that's inside the freezer won't easily freeze.

Dave - That is such a cool idea to automatically feed your system. WOW....WOW....WOW....WOW.....and MORE WOW!!!!!

Thanks for sharing. This is a wonderful idea.
