Looks like quite a start to a great build. Do those dosing pumps keep there timer memory if they loose power ? I was looking to get a couple of those dosing pumps.

Tank did not make it on the truck by yesterday like it was suppose to. I was told it will be crated tuesday or wednesday and go out ASAP.... best guess is that I wont get it for another two weeks... :(

As much as that stinks it most likely will come fully cured so you can fill it right away.

Worst part of getting your new custom tank in is making it sit in the corner for 3 weeks while the silicone cures

Yes that will be the good side I suppose. I have yet to get a response yet on the ship status of the tank. I'm not a happy reefer right now.

My main display has those dimensions, i love it, nice and wide for the scape and long enough for a couple of tangs!

Robs.Mark I see you have a sohol in your picture. Is it in your main display? What other fish are with it and has it given you any problems? I have heard horror stories about them as they get bigger.

So ive been toying with the stock list a little more.... what do you guys think?

2 Bangaii Cardinals
3 Acares Chromis or Blue Chroms
1 Tobacco Bass
1 Long Nosed Hawkfish
5 Lyretail Anthias
2 Fire Clownfish
1 Orchid Dottyback
1 Harlequin Tuskfish
1 Tomini Tang
1 Yellow Tang
1 Niger or Sargassum Trigger... big bioload?

Maybe a Sohal tang... scared of this final addition going crazy alpha on me in the long run....

Ok,

I've refrained so far from any negative remarks as to keep from splurging and spilling while I'm hot headed but I've had my fill. So far my tank has not shipped yet. On to the big issue I got a pictures of the entire system and the display tank was not built as discussed on the phone or via email. The two inch eurobrace has turned into a front 2" brace, a rear 2" brace and sides at a whopping 9.5". I'm not sure where the decision was made to go from 2" euro all the way around to a 9.5" on the sides as no one ever made me aware of the decision. I expressed my concerns and they were met with answers about making the tank structurally sound and that it reAlly wasn't that big of a change. It is a huge change from my perspective and I am ok with te structural comment, but at that point I should have been contacted and made aware and given a choice to upgrade to a thicker glass or I with the 9.5". ( which I would not have went with!). So now I am awaiting a response to both my email and my phone call. Given the track record of response times or response at all since the transaction I may get an answer by the end of the week.

Sorry to here about your tank builder issues. I hope they can sort it out in a timely fashion without straying too much from your original design. Is that 1/2"? 9.5" sounds quite drastic without consulting in my book.

Can you pm me the builder?

Your fish list looks ok in size IMO. The trigger and tusk may end up eatting CUC or shrimp. I have found that giving fish more flow helps burn off some aggresion. Just remember to go slow when you start stocking.

Hopefully someone else can chime in on the Sohal.

Joel,

The tank was built out of 1/2". The builder and I had several conversations about the bracing being 2" and he assured me that a 2" brace would be sufficient. I even looked into upgrading to 3/4" and doing it rimless but he assured me 1/2" with a 2" brace was doable.

I had a huge issue with the sand bed in my 400 gallon. So i have opted to go barebottom this time around. Given that im looking to go barebottom I have also opted to leave out the clean up crew in favor of a trigger and the Tuskfish. so no worries there.

Yea, Im not so sure on the sohal... I have always wanted one but heard too many horror stories about them growing up and turning into a fish assassin.
