observation/question regarding new clown fish...

Ok, so I have a clown in QT, when I first put him there today he was happy as can be. He was also in with some Chaetomorpha, when I removed the Cheats 2 hours later, it seems he is totally skitish, and hides....coincidence or delayed? Hosted with the chaeta?

Most fish need someplace to hide to feel secure , even a piece of pvc pipe will do

I put in rocks and pvc, and he is hidding now. Just odd to see such a change. I figure a fish would start off skittish then get comfy, not the other way around?

I also opened a blind and let some sun in. I know light can affect a fish.?

If you think about the environment they live in ,no place to hide means you end up being dinner

I tend to agree, the change in environment may have freaked it out a little. however, it's hard to tell what the temperament of a fish should be if you have no baseline with it. You've only had it a few hours yet, I'd give it some time to get used to the new setup.

clowns tend to require a safe haven more than most species. I have my maroon in QT as we speak. I put a piece of PVC in there for him and he is happy as a clam

thanks, I understand that. Like I sad before the thing I did not understand was the fact for the first few hours he was happy as can be, and was coming to the surface looking at me, eating etc... Now he hides before I can even look at him...if he even comes out from his rock.
