i know aquascaping should be to your liking but is there some type of guidline to follow so i can get the most space for corals out of my structure? im going to be going mostly sps, just a few lps and i have 50lbs of marco rock to scape with.

That depends mostly on your lighting as far as useable space. If you have t5's then sloped completely front to back sand to 4" below the surface would give the most lit space. With a metal halide a horse shoe bowl but not too high to shade the outer sides of your rock gives two nice peninsulas, it also works well with t5's. Also depends on your tank dimensions if you can make a nice bowl.

the thing is you can never have enough frags and i always wanted to figure out how to maximize space. the biggest waste of space in a tank is the back wall and the overflow . THe way to optimize space is to build a foam rock wall up the overflow and acoss the back and build off that.

Utilize a few pieces of tonga branch into your aquascape. It makes for a great place to mount frags that would otherwise be an empty water column.
