Ocean Clear 340 vs Fluval FX6

I have a 93g saltwater aquarium running for about 3 years now and I use a class wet/dry sump filter.

In general the tank is doing great but I do have a large buildup of detrius matter which reveals itself whenever I disturb the tank, so a water change, or service the sump.

I try to run Chemipure and/or plain ROX carbon in a carbon reactor but after a few days the water exhaust slows down because the reactor quickly fills up with detrius matter clogging the media bags I use.

I was thinking of adding some additional mechanical filtration to the system (all I have now is a pad I change weekly on the intake of the wet/dry) to pickup up the detrius matter (and polish the water better).

I used Ocean Clear in the past and while I'm sure it would do a stellar job it's not as convenient as an all-in-one like the Fluval FX6 because I'd need a separate water pump in the sump and as I recall my OC leaked many times after a service.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Fluval FX6 and if you think it will do a similar job compared to the OC?

Let me add this either of these 2 filters would only be to increase the mechanical filtration of the talk. I would not put any ceramic / bio media in the filter except perhaps the Chemipure and/or ROX carbon since the water flow should be good with either...

i have been using FX6 on my 90 gallon for a year. I have 2 powerheads to prevent dead spots in the tank. As long as you clear your filter, you wont have problems
