Ocean Runner pumps

What does everyone think about these pumps? Seem like a good deal at $79.00 (Dr F&S), 95 watts for 1700 gph with auto shutdown.

i'll save you shipping i have one for $60 i bought it a week ago and it isn't going to work on my setup.it is used but i tried it out and it work fine.it come with unions and some pluming.let me know if you interested.i'll send you some pics.

Thrice, just a heads up the fittings are not standard pvc compatable.

the one i have has standard pvc fittings on it at least they look in.i'll check

They look like it but they are metric, I had one and had to return it b/c of it. Its not a big deal if you are not using pvc, you could just use the hose barb fitting it comes with.

i just check mine and it is adapted to 1" pvc return and 1 1/4" pvc inlet

I was wondering about these pumps as well. I posted a question on the 'Lighting & Filtration' forum about running one externally, but never got a response.

I was thinking about running my closed loop on one of these until I get the extra cash needed for a Dart.

I am interested, pm me or post the pics. I am still unsure what I am going to do for a return, but I have heard some good things about these pumps. As far as the PVC compatibility, I have no problem using hose and the barbed fitting, it's less than ideal, but a reasonable sacrifice.

I've been using an ocean runner 2500 pump on my skimmer in my sump and have no complaints about it at all. I use an in-sump via aqua 3600 pump for my return and also no complaints there.

pics.post in my gallery in ocean runner.back cover doesn't seem to want to stay on.i think alittle dab of glue would fix that.cover doesn't seem to do anything other than for looks

I mentioned in anouther thread that a standard one inch male conduit coupler works fine with the fitting...

I guess the counduit isn't as tight of a fit as pvc becuase it isn't made to hold any kind of pressure... probly use the old dies on the pvc plant for condiut and it makes for a slightly larger or not as tight of a fit... the ocndiut couple will thread on your ocean runner ilke it was made for it.. I put some pipe tape around it and it sealed perfect.. don't let the parts people fool you.. TRY IT
worked for mine after searching every poolstore hardware store and hydrualic place in town.. I finally for whatever reason just tried it on condiut and it went on like it was made for it.
