Oceanrevive

I would recommend ocean revive happy with my light. I can buy 5 of these for the price of one radion. When you have a big tank and need multiple lights this is the way to go unless you have money to throw away.

If you are on Facebook Dustin Gardner is one of there customer service rep and I believe sales rep as well. He is an awesome guy and is always willing to help with any questions regarding their whole product line up.

When you spend a ton of money on a toy you have to defend your purchase. You have to justify it. It's like buying a Lexus vs. a Kia. They will both get the job done of getting you to work and the grocery store but the Lexus will get you there in style.

I recently purchased some Pharos LED's to see what happens. Not knowing anything about them I improvised and set a schedule with 50% max intensity on all channels at some point in the day. I placed one over some frags to test the setup and fried the frags within 3 days. These frags came from my display above which uses 250 W. HQI Metal Halides.

Then I lowered the intensity of all of the channels to 25% and have been keeping frags alive and looking good for a couple of weeks now. We'll see what happens to growth over time.

The lesson is: I thought these were going to be weak compared to my MH. I was wrong! Just like Tigerdragon above said, it's all about intensity % and knowing what you are doing with them.

Radions definitely don't need me to defend them they do that on there own. I was just saying the price on a quality fixture includes more than the fixture it's self. I'm all about getting good stuff on a deal so if you can do that and the company has good cs then hell yeah. I had a reef breaders photon 48 before radions while it was a decent light and it grew all corals my radions are far better looking and make my corals look better as well as grow faster.

Will these light sync to each other or would you have to rely on the clocks in each one keeping the exact same time.

No the lights do not sync together set the clocks to the same time. What do you expect out of a 148 dollar light. Your comparing a budget light to an over priced one. If you want to spend the money there are better quality lights then radions. I could go on about other lights but this thread is about ocean revive leds

That wasn't directed at you. Just an observation over years...

I just got one of the Oceanrevive lights. I'm pretty impressed so far. So impressed I just ordered another one. I'm looking to put four of them on my big tank. Researching them, I see they very good reviews and now are a sponsor here on RC. Can't beat a LED light for $148. Now we'll just see if it will grow corals.

A little OT but what are you using that tank for? Curious why you are using an HOB filter.

Dude, if you like these lights then that is great . . . in fact at this price I might buy one to hang over my frag tank as a first shot at LEDs. However, it bugs me when people equate buying something more high end like the Ecotech products as having "money to throw away" and buying "over priced" items.

There is value to buying very well made and engineered products from a highly supported and responsive company. I've got thousands of dollars and probably an equal number of hours into my tank and I want what I consider to be reliable/quality equipment running it. That's why I don't want to skimp on critical failure point items such as pumps, controllers, powerheads, and lights - and I consider lights on an established tank to be a critical failure point.

I appreciate the OP showing us these lights and, like I said, I might buy a set to try out, but if I don't it doesn't mean I'm throwing my money away.

These look very similiar to the Reefbreeders 32" I have over 1 of my 125g tanks. Actually, if you Google it, there is talk of them both being made in China and shipped to US resellers.

Actually, I have both 125g tanks side by side in wall. 1 I have 2x 32" RB photons and the other I have 3 Radion G3. IMHO the Radion has a nicer daylight (white) setting. The RB looks almost sterile. On the other hand, I like the blues on the RB better as THAT looks more natural. At this moment I am sure i can play with the settings and get them closer. I am also thinking of removing the optics on the RB to limit the 'spotlighting' effect I see. or atleast I think i see.

Anyways, what made me quote the above post is that these APPEAR similar to the RB photons. RB recently released a wiring kit that will allow 2 or more fixtures to sync together and be ran from 1 controller. Isnt wireless, and you need to open the case, but it helps with the clocks not staying in sync and having to program multiple fixtures.

This a 40 breeder I set up for frags. But my DT has not been doing very much growing. The sump pump went out. So I just use the tank as a quarantine tank.

I decided to pick up a couple of these tonight to try over the new tank when it gets up. I was needing to replace most of my t5 bulbs and, at $20 a pop, it was cheaper to buy one of these than to buy 8 t5's.

I bought another one and just received it yesterday. I mounted the two of them on the one side of my 200g. I am very impressed of the looks and of the intensely of the light. The instructions for the lights timer suck. Still trying to figure that out. I am going to buy two more for the other side of the 200g. I never had LED's before. I love the looks of the light spectrum they put off. They are very bright. But do they grow and maintain coral? We'll see.

In the picture, on the left is the two OceanRevive. On the right is one 250w Phoenix 14k and four T5's.

Reefslugs...looks brighter than the t5/halide combo. What % are you running the channels on?
