Oceanrevive

At $200 a piece it's a lot easier to justify an operational savings. Back of the envelope calculation shows if you run these at 50% (is that typical?) for 9 hours a day then you have a ~$50/yr electricity savings. Add $75/yr for MH bulbs and you have less than a two year payback.

That was my big push to give these a try. I needed to replace 8 t5's at $20 a piece. Couple that with the energy difference (t5's - 432 watts vs. LED's - 120 watts) and I figured I would break even in a little over a year on two fixtures.

Okay let's get it back on track. Pun intended. I am seriously considering getting some of these, seeing as I really need to get rid of my MHs. Too much power consumption overall. I'm looking at the Ocean Revive site and also at their Amazon page and I'm a bit confused. I see this one on the Amazon page but can't find it on the manufacturer's page. It seems to be the best deal but I'm not sure. I just don't see a model number anywhere to confirm which one it is. Am I just really tired and being blind?

HAAAAALP

Thanks for the HAAAAALP, lol. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on these. I emailed customer support and found out that it is a model that is exclusive to Amazon, and is being discontinued soon with no replacement. It is most closely related to the T247. I'm pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger tomorrow night.

Interesting I wonder if they are the same lighting setup as the T247- I am waiting for the T247 to get back in stock I am in need for 1 more but if this is the same spread I might go for these on amazon.

I think he means rotate them 90 degrees so that they are long with the length of the tank. The led control panels would be to the side, not facing the front of the tank. Hope this clear this up.

I didn't think it need clearing up if you were to rotate it the other way 90 degrees the LEDs would be pointed at the wall lol.

Someone needs a happy pill 💊.

I'm not in a ****y mood, I was just trying to help and he didnt even take the time to actually read what I wrote before he fired back with "read my note"....if your going to be a dick or short with me expect it in return.

I see what you guys are saying now. This weekend I will try rotating two of them on one side and see how it looks. I will respond back with pictures.

I'm just trying to find the other gift cards. I've also been looking for cheaper alternatives but can't find any, so I'll buy soon.

I turn my lights and I did not like it. It made the back of the tank shadowed. Maybe it would have work if I had my lights up higher. But since I have a canopy. I have them mounted at 10 inches above the water. I can say these lights are powerful. I was running the blues at 50 and the whites at 25. I had to turn them down do to some corals were starting to pail.

I've been thinking about getting one of these. I see that the T247 is back in stock and the Amazon only model are still being sold as well. The T247 is $199.

The Amazon model is $159.

From the descriptions provided, I can't really see the difference between them to justify the $40 difference.

Anyone out there with experience with both that has an opinion on which is the better of the two for the price?

Found out another cool thing. Last night I was going to change the clock time. Having four of them I thought this was going to take a while, but one remote changed the time on all four lights at the same time. So one remote will work all the lights. Guess I will keep the other three remotes for back ups.
