Oceans Motions 4 way - worth it?

Just received my new tank from Aquariums for you (60x30x30).(built like a tank in comparison to my old 60x24x30 from Aquarium Obsessed that busted)..considering upgrading flow by going from 1" sea swirls to Oceans Motions 4 way with 4 revolutions...

Anybody using this? What are peoples thoughts? Advantages/disadvantages versus Sea Swirls?

Any other recommendations for flow other than Tunze?

Return is powered by Sequence 1000 Series, Model 5000SEQ22 with about 5-6' of vertical.

Thanks

I just did the exact same thing with my 8x2x2, I used two oceans motions 4 ways, and couldn't be happier with the flow, I used two dart pumps @ 3600 gph each, but for head loss, I installed them on shelves I built level with the bottom of the aquarium, so there is minimal head loss

I would like to know too. I set my tank up for the Oceans Motions.. but I was told recently that they may trap sand in the drum and may cause a leak. Now Im not sure if I want it.

I have an OM 8 way and an OM 4way on my 240 cube. They have worked perfectly for almost two years now.
Each is hooked up to a Sequence Dart.

Each Dart has its own 2" bulkhead drain feeding it from the tank. I have seen fellow hobbyists feed their Darts with two 1 1/2" drains to cut back on the suction from the drain, but I didn't feel this was necessary.

I support the OM 4-way with the revolutions.
I got sand in my 4-way drum. I added really fine sand while the closed loop was running. Cleaned it out, & no more problems.

What was the problem you ran into? leak?

The problem that people have is that the drum won't rotate if sand gets stuck. No leak. You just have to clean it out if that happens to you.

I added an OM 4way to my 120. I get sand in it all the time. I had to move the intake higher so that it would not suck in sand. Other then that I like the appearance more then tunze.

Troll,
Could you post pics of your tank? 60x30x30 is exactly what I am in the design and planning stage of. Do you like the dimensions? Is it glass or acrylic? How thick are your panels? Any info would be great!!

Thanks,
Jay

Can you tell me what differences you have found with this tank versus Aquarium Obsessed? I am also planning a new tank and I really like the dimensions of your tank. Same proportions as my current 120. Any photos? Any equipment shots? What lighting/skimmer are you going to use?

Will be starting thread on tank build this weekend when I have the time.

3/4" in glass. 100 differences between AFY and AO tank. Even the movers could tell when they removed the old one and put in the new one in its place. Bracing, silicone, overflows being the 3 biggest improvements. Customer service the 4th for they were great to work with so far.

Awaiting my 4-way but was talked out of the revolutions due to possible siphon issues since this is on a sump return and not a closed loop.

Anyone using revolutions as a sump return? Looks like I might go back to my seaswirls that are not as deep in the tank.

Thoughts?
