Oceans Motions 4 way - worth it?

I LOVE my Oceans Motions 4 Way
I have it running in my 120g tank. I drilled two holes for 1.5" Bulkheads for intake that T together into a 2" line. I also drilled 2 holes for 1" returns. My other 2 returns go over the top of the tank.
The flow from the Dart is great and the OM unit is very strong and reliable.
I would definately purchase another for my next tank. I just dont like to see powerheads or large pumps in my tank.
My 2 cent. :)

Hi...
I have to second that motion.
I love mine too...
It does get some sand trapped in there from time to time, you just have to clean it once in a while.
I use it under preasure with penductors. It was not designed for preasure, but it works great, after some mod's.

I guess since cleaning is a must because of sand.. then planning good plumbing for this unit is a must with gates for easy removing.

Anyone using revolutions as a sump return? Looks like I might go back to my seaswirls that are not as deep in the tank.

Thoughts?

I used revs as a sump return, I plumbed a check valve right at the outlet of the pump so in a power failure it wouldnt siphon.I ended up dumping the revs, and going with fixed returns (more of them) and gutting out the 4-way and using it simply as a 4 way manifold. I talked with paul at oceansmotions about all this, he basically said the revs didnt quite perform like he had hoped, or rather he was'nt as impressed as he thought he would be with them . Makes sense I guess, sometimes a great idea does'nt turn out as good as you had hoped for.

Basically the chaotic random flow is'nt what everybody is going for theses days. It seems a nice circular flow from one end to the other is where its heading. Anyone else find this when researching?
