ocellaris agression

Well I have had an ocellaris clown by itself for over a year in a 29 gallon aqurium. I aquired a new one for free tonight so I figured I would try to see how they would get along. That was a bad idea, as soon as the new fish hit the water they were fighting. I quickly removed the new clown and put him in a different tank. So I guess my question is, will they work our their differences and settle down after a day or two or should I keep them seperated. I have 2 other tanks that I can house the fish in so if they will not be peacefull in a day or two I have a place to keep it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What are the size of these two clowns?

Usually if one clown is really bigger than the other they should settle their disputes in no time. If they are around the sam size one or probably both will die from exaustion.

A 29 seems a little small to me for a new clown introduction. I always think it goes best if they are together from the start.

when trying to pair clowns you should look into a few things.... how old is the new clown?? how long has it been by itself?? was it previously paired up?? if this clown is a female the old clown will not accept it and just end up killing it..

Well I have decided to just keep the fish seperate. I think it will be the best for both of them. The new clown is doing great and is happy in his new home. Thanks for all of the input guys, I should have figured it would be a bad idea.

Thanks
