ocellaris clown not eating?

I have 2 new ocellaris clowns in a 29 gallon qt tank.

They went in last night, I fed them this morning hikari small pellets. 1 ate fairly well and went after some of the pellets on the surface. The other searched around like it was hungry but rarely touched the pellets even when right in front of him. Is this normal or is there potentially something wrong with him?

I picked up some frozen mysis tonight and may try feeding that tomorrow morning. I'm just afraid their still hungry.

Sometimes they can be picky eaters at first until they are more settled in but sometimes they are just picky eaters their whole life, I have one that only eats half the amount that the other one eats and only seems interested in the food for the first minute of the feeding. My other clown is a monster when it comes to feeding, I'm guessing that one will be the female since it's slightly bigger in size between the two of them.

In any case your fish should survive one night of not eating.

I wouldn't expect every fish to eat on the first day. Also not all fish like the same foods - some are very picky.

I tried the mysis just now... neither one really ate much at all.. maybe a couple specs.

1 takes it in and spits out a bunch of times the other is just swimming fast around the tank looking for food but it's right in front of him?

is this normal?

Same behavior with both hikari small pellets and mysis shrimp.

How long does it usually take before they will accept the food?

try brine shrimp not very nutritious but better than nothing and will get them on the track to eating

they finally started eating some hikari small pellets... thank goodness!

They barely touched the frozen brine, and they would just always spit out the frozen mysis.

but at least their taking something in at this point!
