Ocellaris Clown Swimming near GBTA

Hey guys,

In my 20 gallon tank, I have noticed that one of my ocellaris clowns seems to "hang-out" within 3 inches of my GBTA every so often. It will be swimming randomly somewhere in the tank, and then it will go to within 3 inches of the GBTA, but not actually host it. It will stay there and sort of "look" at the anemone. May this be a good sign that the clown may start to be hosted by the GBTA in a while? It gets very close, but doesn't go in it, and it seems that it is sort of "curious" about the anemone.

your secret ingredients: time and patience.

The clown will probably get closer and closer and maybe dart just within reach of the tentacles to build up a tolerance to the sting then.. shazaam one day you'll wake up and the clown will be nestled among the tentacles. Just be patient

That is absolutely not true. I have a pair of Ocellaris hosting in 4 roses. Itis not their natural host anemone but don't tell them that. Swimming close is a good sign, checking it out so to speak. I have had them do the tail flick too. They swim up to and an very quickly turn and hit it hard with their tail, very comical.

This was during the first split of my rose.

like i told someone else earlier put one of those food clips that look like a clown fish near the nem and put some food in it worked for me
