ocellaris clownfish changing color?

Got a black clown and an orange clown... The orange clown appears to be darkening to a blackish color as if it might change to match the larger (both juvies) black clown.

I knew the black ones have some orange on them and get blacker as they age, but a completely orange clown turning black?

Anyone have ideas or experiences related?

Is it turning completely black? Or maybe just looking a bit dark, like a suntan? O's have been known to "tan" a little bit under bright lights. They will look a little muddy, but still have an orange tone. Can you post a picture?

Looks darker than in picture, tank lights mess with the camera

black ocellaris are orange when really young, then they turn black. Based on fin color development I'd say your clowns are about 1.25 inch and about 6 to 7 months old. You may have a late bloomer turning dark now. It could also be a "mocha" type that looks brown when adult.
