Ocellaris pair killing torch coral?

I have clowns breeding in my reef tank (3 clowns). They've taken up residence in my torch coral. Since moving in and continually laying eggs on the base of this coral, it seems that they've killed 2 branches of my torch. I beleive that they are rubbing against the torch so much, and so hard, that they've been killing it. Has anyone else had this problem, or have any suggestions?

I haven't faced this issue personally, but my occelaris came from a friend who didn't want to keep her for this exact reason. He had a prized leather coral that she'd decided to take as a host, and the fish's constant rubbing was really irritating the coral. Anything he tried (moving the coral, rearranging the tank, etc) was fruitless - the clown soon re-discovered her host and resumed the torture.

I think your only choice may be to remove the coral, or provide a more desirable host and hope they take to it. You could try moving the coral into another tank or the refugium for a while, see if they take to something else, but even then they may reclaim their torch when you return it.
