this may be a dumb question, but if I add a Hawaiian feather duster will clownfish that don't have a host anemone mimic that relationship with the feather duster?

I've heard of a clown hosting with a LPS like frogspawn but never a feather duster.

Feather dusters are a type of tubeworm, aren't they?

I don't know...I've never heard of it, but that doesn't mean it can't happen, I guess...seems kind of unlikely, as if I'm thinking of the right creature, the feather duster might retract into its tube when the clowns come around.
 
I've seen pics of clowns hosting a feather duster. It's on RC somewhere. Try a search.

If you're concerned about the duster's safety, don't worry. The clowns won't hurt it.

Yes. They are filter feeding worms who use their "feathers" to catch small food particles.
 
Well...there you have it...apparently clowns can host just about anything...haha...I must say, I didn't see that one coming.
