8-8.5.
I would lower the tee outlet a bit and if you need to, lower the water level.
I just tried what you said, and now I have control with the gatevalve, but, the turbulance in the skimmer is alot. I think that's why they put the bubble plate in, Just a guess.

Should I order the PPW for my x200, if so, where do I order it from? And how long shipping from aqua cave. It's only been 12hr's since I ordered. It's gonna be a long week. Thanx.

I would run a modest mesh job over the $40 PPW. The sicce will cause a lot of turbulence, even with the bubble plate. My extreme 200 looks like the the bubble shoot from left to right and go right through the bp. I need to add something on the end of the pump outlet inside the bp to redirect the water/air away from the wall of the bp.

I ran the sicce mounted directly to uni-seal ( less restriction) on a G3
I agree with Tang, you really need to lower output tee!! In fact remove the thing and use the orginal output.. It works just fine! (been there done that :D )

Thanx guys, the 2500 came with the mesh mod wheel, that's what in it now, I lowered the tee and I do have control of it now, pump wont sart unless I blow in the air tube (volute). While Im waiting for the x200 to get here, maybe can this one going for my FOWLR. Constant bubbles in neck (about an 1-1/2from top) but nuttin in cup yet. Im gonna try the original output and see where that get's me.

I just ordered a gate vavle and and a metric adapter for my 200. I can't wait to get it on!
Vito, I would practice meshing and get it to where the pump starts/ Do you have an air meter?

I agree with CD, plumb the pump so it shoots straight into the skimmer body. I bet that will be a bad A lil skimmer.

the sicce pump is great at mixing air with water but it does not pull the air down the air line tube very well. you either have to move pump up in the water column or lower water level in slump.

All right, I got some extra money hanging around, I want the gate valve mod, where did you get it from. I am a handyman, Ill mesh that thing to the hilt to where it start's up with out a BJ. Taking all advice, going to dinner THEN homedepot for pluming stuff. I'LL be back. THANX GUYS!!!

Just ordered the ppw, cant seem to find the Gatevalve for the octo x 200- going to replumb the 2500 tonight ,and no I do not have a air meter yet

I just bought my first skimmer, an Octo extreme 160 :) My only concern is the space for it in my sump does not have a constant water level. Is there an easy way to get around this without adding taller baffles or ato?

I cant think of a way to keep the level constant without one or the other. My sump isnt baffled at all, I just use an ATO with a float switch and pump to keep level constant An ATO of some kind would be the easiest to implement and can be done very inexpensively. Either with a float switch to control a pump or a passive float valve. There are other benefits besides just keeping the skimmer consistent. It also keeps the specific gravity constant. I would really consider using and ATO or a dedicated skimmer section to keep level constant. Again, they can be done inexpensively and simply. There is even the inverted soda bottle ATO and other pressure based DIY ATO's posted on the net.

Hablo espanol un poco/asi asi. Soy correindo enkamat tambien, seis capas.
Chow.

The important thing is regular, the foam got about half of the letter "R" and hence works very well

la clave para que espume asi es regularlo bien, la espuma la tengo aproximadamente a la mitad de la letra "R" y de ahi trabaja muy bien

WOW!! Lowered the tee and plumed the 2500 straight into the skimmer, ( The pump is only about 2" below the water level )dumped a cupfull of skimmate from the main, and it pulled it right out. Cant wait to my Octo X 200, will be here friday, with the ppw. I guess I'll keep fooling around with this little beast for now!! Got to get a air meter, anyone know where to git one ? Thanx
