I would think 8" of water is good. That is where I ran it on the MSX250 and the also the cone. Obvious stuff like the outlet not submerged? One thing I see from your pic is the hole in the air intake is smaller than the pump I have. What is the air draw?

i got a pro after a couple of months it had impeller problems but ho hum, apparently coralvue is no longer stocking them and dont have the parts and the manufacturer according to coralvue appears to have gone out of buisness.... $650 and a useless skimmer

Can't you just get a new impeller to stick in that askoll from another company. the pumps are all the same aren't they? I'm sure it is a pretty basic part. Pretty crappy about CV not stepping up to the plate for you. That was their top of the line skimmer just a few months ago. they obviously have askolls laying around for the new skimmers. pretty sheisty

Thats some BS, where did you buy it from?

I would lean on the retailer to make CoralVue step up. If they didn't file a BBB complaint, company's hate that on CV!!!

Good Luck, you could always buy one of the Red Dragon II coming out, they are sais tobe decently priced, and would probably rock that skimmer.
