I just read my email, and found the following:

We're using the new election format. The nominations and the elections will take place this month. New board members are requested to attend next month (November) for pass down.

What positions are available? Do we have an indication of who is running for what position?

I nominate Paul as our PR person again!

If there is an open position, while new, I would be interested in serving on behalf of the club. I've served on a board for property management in the past.

I believe EVERY position would be open unless office terms vary by position.

Pete, I think you would be an excellent officer. Just pick the position you want and I'll nominate you.
 
If Paul is the only choice i guess i will vote for him.

Paul just playing you are doing a great job and who wants to go and ask for donations every month? not me!

Plus it seems he has mended some ties with a couple LFS, IE Aqualife!

Pete, I think you would be great on the BOD. Pick your position and pm me. I will nominate you in a NY second.
 
At one time, the term were 2 years. Each year about 1/2 the board would be replaced. However, I thought that last time, the bylaws were changed so that all positions were 1 year terms. Update: I just read the bylaws, and it does none of the term length was changed. I think we should change the "terms" of the position to one year by amending the bylaws.

Here is a list of positions - although I am not sure which one is available.

President
Vice President
Public Relations
Treasurer
WebMaster
Secretary
Board of Governors (2 positions)
 
I'm not sure who is running for what, but I'd be more than happy to serve as:

VP, Treasurer, Secretary, BOG

In no particular order. No way anyone should run against Paul! I don't know if the incumbents are planning on running again, so this isn't a suggestion that I could do better, just that I'd be happy to serve.
 
Who the hell would want to replace Paul? Begging for hookups at the LFS for a bunch of complaining MARS members is not my idea of fun. Neither is the responsibility of bringing in healthy livestock. Keep up the good work, Paul! (J/K on the complaining part...but I'm sure some of the threads on here makes Paul's job harder.)

One curiosity I have had is the club's financials... Shouldn't these be open book or even presented in the monthly meetings? I'm just curious where we were last year, where we are at now, and what has been spent.
 
As far as I know the club is flush. The WMC brought in quite a lot and we were not hurting before that either.

Time to spend money on some prime speakers.
 
The bylaws did change but I guess I have not updated them on the site :)
Each term is now only good for one year..
Also I don't belive you need to be nominated..
I nominated myself last year...

I'll have to see if I can get a current copy of the bylaws so I can update the site....
 
Pretty much same positions filled as were before.
This month was the nominations, next month is the election.

I think the only voting will be for BOG
 
Myself, Mike B, and two others are running for the 4 BOG positions. I believe that the incumbents are all running for the other positions.

Paul nominated you but you werent there at the time.

Think Doug a guy that is already on there and Kevin are the other 2 people
