This was our annual Halloween meeting - because the only thing better than reefs are scary reefs!

Present: Spongie +1 (your name escapes me, sorry!) as Bacon and Eggs, Engloid and Freida as Clyde and Bonnie, mattjfishman as Bettie +mom, Devin Wolfe +1 as Pirates/Buccaneers, HazMat Trimax, SteveW and PatB as self-sames, Bluestarfish as Zee Pimp, Seased as The Astrophysicist, planejane as anemone-hosting fish-head thingy, macclellan as the z0mbie with his +1 call girl, omreardon as the protagonist in the film 28 Days or an outtake of a stunt-gone wrong on Scrubs, DanTJ99 as Dan da man... that's it I think, working from memory.

Context: Seth/Spongie hosted in his lovely home with SEC football on the air, great food provided and brought by all, an open back porch for 'fragging-hand steadying', nice mancave, and his 42.1415926535 gallon tall "Acanlandia" tank in his fishroom, complete with a kegerator, with a 75g SPS tank and 55g refugium in the works.

Substance: Seth demonstrated LPS (acan and chalice) fragging with a dremel and managed to spray coral-tissue goop over the crowd a-la-Gallagher. We also discussed moving tanks and the benefits of fragging your favorite corals as a backup for when things go south (no anti-south sentiment peoples, it's just an expression). We also discussed getting the PAR meter passed to the next person in line in a more timely fashion; it shouldn't just sit at someone's house for months on end.

Stuff: 4 gift certificates to BlueWaterTropicas.com were distributed to members. 3 were via a raffle, and 1 was to the "Best Costume Contest" winner, the winner of which was macclellan (aka "me"). Also, several folks won LPS frags at the graciousness of the hostest with the mostest.

Future Action(s): We discussed doing a group buy from Mr. Coral and/or BlueWaterTropicals. Details to follow in the coming weeks.

Next Meeting: ??? It will be in November (duh), probably the 20th, details forthcoming.

Hello everyone. I had a great time and appreciate everyone being so friendly to the new guy, me. I look forward to more meetings in the future, and am happy to be part of such an active group. For those who won a gift card, we need to get together and do a group order to help on shipping. Thanks for opening your doors Spongie, was a very nice house and a great looking tank.

@ Joel- did you already trademark "AcanLandia", or may I steal it? Sounds like a jolly happy place, think Wonka Factory minus all the oompa loompas.

@Dan- Thank you for the kind words, I am definitely down on a little ground buy action. We will have to talk to said company and see how we can work everyone wanting to use their GC on the same order (most companies only want you to use one GC per order). I think if we explain that this will be for multiple people they will most likely work something out with us.

I would be in for a group buy on a Mr. Coral order. Sorry I missed the meeting it sounded like a good time was had by all but all that good beer at the brewers jam was just too much to resist! I will do my best to be at the next meeting!

Oktoberfest was yummy, I didn't get to really enjoy it until after everyone left as I didn't want to be too drunk and chop off a finger with the ole Dremel. Thanks again for that and just give me a call when you are ready for your frags.

Megan and I would be interested in several, last we looked i think it was like 6 or 7.

Steve, if you want to start it officially I think we should be able to get it up there to the free shipping amount in no time, but as mentioned at the meeting, they would likely need to make an exception of the "1 per" rule on some species.

There are several of their $10 frags that I am interested in mostly just zoas. They do have some pretty good looking stiff though
