October Meeting...

Is anyone interested in hosting a meeting in October? Since September flew by thought we would try this month.
The Red Tide is still around alittle so I don't think siening or snorkeling is in order. Also remember that Brian Green usually does November meeting so keep an eye out for that announcement.

Sure we can do it at my place and title it Starting Over From Scratch...I plan to have it well underway by then and running in time for the november meeting.

Greg has offered to host the meeting this month. He has propsed Saturday the 28th. Would like to get a rollcall if people could make it this date. So if you think you can make it please post in the thread. Thanks

Myself and Dawn will be out of town that weekend, actually as it looks now most of our weekends are gone this month. But we will try to make a meeting if it is possible....

I live in Bayshore Gardens, Bradenton (near the Target) thats just off of 41W about 5 miles north of the airport (SRQ)

WooHoo!!! I should be able to make this one.

Sorry to hear about your leg Greg, and your tank crash, too. If you're interested and still looking for frags, I have a speckled leather (about 2" high) and some rusty colored zoas you're more than welcome to have.

Here's a pic of the leather mother colony when it was smaller, no pic of the zoas, though...

BTW, this thing grows like mad... I've fragged this baby well over 20 times to trade at the LFS. :D

Thanks, all fags welcome :) I need all the help I can get.

I'm looking forward to having every one, I hope to have a good turn out.

Any Ideas for a topic? We could make GARF rock, or Discuss some new Trends (which would be old ones revisited as it so often is).

Or we could just critique my setup or plans for the 150 I'm setting up.

Greg your PM box is full. Send me a PM with your address and I will put together a email to all the memebers so they have directions. Thanks

Is any one interested in doing a sand exchange at the meeting?

I could use the head start for my 150. Ill have a tank running and put in my dead sand ( cleaned of course) if everyone could bring a cup of sand well mix it all up and Ill return your investment two fold back to you at the Nov meeting.

You could be adding some Bio- diversity and I can get a head start on the cycle and pod count.

Anyone wishing to donate a cup of live sand or an invert starter kit is welcome too.

Greg

i am new as well but would like to attend. can you please PM me some details. and will there be anyone wanting to sell/trade frags at this get together?

Lucas

Lynn and I will be there. I am off for a change on the intended date! I will try to remember to bring some sand and some softies or something. Anyone want some Slippery Dick wrasses-2 supermales, 5 or 6 females, and 2 Stop Light parrot fish, both juvies, about 4" and 6" the smaller is blueish so I assume he is going to be a born male(supermale), and the other has red belly and checkered back so I assume it will be a female. I have them all in 2 seperate tanks supermale wrasses and parrots, but the tanks are butted up and until I put a piece of paper between, the parrots and the males wrasses would flare and get very bright, biting and going up and down the glass at each other. So in other words the 2 parrots or the 2 supermale wrasses cant be kept together. But they are long term captives and are trained to come to front to feed. Come to a tap on the glass and wait like puppies. Free or if you want to trade for anything. Some of the wrasses- 2 big females, havent turned into males yet, we have had for 1 1/2 years and are reef safe, and living in the reef tank, but I would think the parrots might try to scrape algae off the rocks and not be reef safe. Not that they would eat any corals, as I keep zoas and gorgonians in their tanks now, but with SPS and others, I didnt want to try it out! Oh Scotty, I will PM you my email as I dont get your emails. I dont know the address. Steve.

Katie and I will be there. This will be our first meeting as I was able to take off shift till 5:00pm. I will try and remember to bring a cup of sand. I don't have any frags as I'm just starting also. Let me know if you need us to bring anything.

No extra sand unfortunately (I should probably add more!) but I've got some zoanthid frags I could bring if there's interest. Heh, I think I owe Steve one from a while back anyway.
