Octobubble Trouble

I recently purchased an octobubble coral. Before my last water change (25% 1.5 weeks ago), I noticed it wasn't expanding. Today I noticed that it appears to be dying, branches are dark green and limp.

Any advice? I don't have a qt, so worse case I would probably have to dump it.

I have never had an octobubble but I have had several lps recover with only quarter to dime size flesh left on them so I wouldn't dump it.. I have even seen them regrow from the skeletons...

what do you have for lights?

maybe try a different spot in the tank?

Interesting, thanks for the reply.

I don't know the proper name, but it looks like a torch with little white bubbles on the tenticles (again I'm sure they are not called tenticles).

I have 2 VHO and 1 MH 250 WATT/10000K.

I will try moving it away from the MH.

I agree with Gary, move it. I have a large octobubble and he is pretty high up in the tank, but not under direct MH light. I also have 250MH. I thing the 400W is too strong, especially if it is under it. I would move it to pretty low light until is get's it's strength back, and then you can move it to moderate light which it likes.

Unfortunately i do not have a picture on hand.

Gary, the link that you posted is not what I have. I'll try to dig up some info.

Hopefully the move will help.
