Octopus In A 20 Gallon Tank

Hello,

I was wondering what octopus i could keep in a 20 gallon. I wanted a long lived one so I was thinking a Bimac, but I was told they get to large. so does anyone have any suggestions?

There are several dwarfs that would work including O. mercatoris, O. joubini, O. bocki, O. wolfi, etc. Of these, only O. mercatoris is reliably available. Occasionally you will see O. digueti for sale from the Gulf of California. It is a bit larger, but I have kept them in a 20 gal. system.

Hapalochlaena lunulata easily fit into a 20, but I can't recommend them for obvious reasons.

You can expect not to be able to keep any of the dwarfs more than a few months.
