Octopus info

I have been asked to maintain a reef tank (most just live rock) Its around 50 or 60 gallon hex. It's located at a local business and since I'm friends with some of their extended family they trust me in taking care of the tank and in their business after hours. Anyway I went today to look at the tank and took a few pics. They have a clown fish, a 6 line wrase and a octopus (I have never kept one of these). The tank is in poor shape. They don't even have a hydrometer. Also have been just adding tap water to the tank. In a couple days I'm going to do a water change and check the water quality. thanks for any info especially on the octopus.

Not an octopus, but rather a serpent star fish.

Well it's been a long time since I've had a reef tank. Should have know better. I had one of those. thanks
