quick question is the ink from a carribean reef octopus toxic to a tank system (i.e. reef live rock live sand a few cromies a few anemonies and a banded cat shark hang on the back fuge
Octopus ink (consisting largely of melanin in many cases) is not generally toxic, at least not in the concentrations and times exposed in the wild. I doubt anyone has done extensive testing on closed systems where it might stay around for a long time.
