These just seem to have started showing up recently. Anyone have on yet or any experiences? I a seeing them labeled as Macrodactyla doreensis and the one that I picked up today seems to be consistent with the species from the others that I have owned. I will get some pics once it settles in.

And here we go first picture showing their distinctive spots. Buried its foot quickly and already has stuff stuck to is column.

would love some details on these... never even heard of them before... difficulty level and all that good stuff

As mentioned in another thread, probably Dofleina armata .
And that one is azoox, so manual feeding mode.
Good luck
BTW: The German name "Armed Anemone" comes from the launchable nematocysts of the sea anemone, which can easily penetrate human skin and which results in fierce and strong burning pain for months, so caution in dealing with these animals!

Yep I am wondering as well if it's truely a LTA it acts similar and has a base that looks right, and similar stickiness to my old Purple LTA I lost in my tank. It does look like it has zooxanthalae but not even positive on that. Nice thing though is other than being sticky the sting doesn't hurt at all.

Yep pretty positive not a LTA now but I also am starting to believe the possibility that it mimics LTAs. Has the same curly tentacles, buries in the sand the same way, very similar column, an it won't take shrimp but chows on fish. Looks like its going to be a sump anemone for me.
